Covid-19 updates

Each of our unique small businesses is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic

with some changes to ensure the health and safety of our community.

Please check the individual websites and hours for our businesses before planning your trip.

Whether Saxapahaw is your home or your home away from home,

our business community appreciates your support during this time!

While you are visiting saxapahaw:

+ Wear a tight fitting mask that covers your nose and mouth. If you need to purchase a mask, cloth masks are for sale at Saxapahaw General Store, Freehand Market, and The Eddy Pub.

+ Maintain 6 feet of distance between your party and other parties inside businesses, on sidewalks, and on trails.

+ Wash your hands frequently and/or hand sanitize in spaces where hand washing is not available.

+ Read and respect all signage and rules for each business or space you visit. Each of our businesses have created guidelines that work best for us, and we are all doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Haw river ballroom + cup22

While most of our businesses have been able to re-open in some capacity, Haw River Ballroom and Cup22 (the coffee shop inside the Ballroom) will remain closed through 2020 and until events and large gatherings are safe.

saxapahaw holiday market

Sadly, it is not possible to host the Saxapahaw Holiday Market safely given the current numbers for COVID-19 cases. The Holiday Market is cancelled for 2020.

We encourage you to reach out to vendors you normally shop with at the Holiday Market, and shop with them directly if possible.

Some of the vendors who normally show at the Saxapahaw Holiday Market are popping up in Freehand Market for one day this holiday season. The schedule for Freehand Market's COVID-safe Holiday Maker Pop-Up Series is below.
